Ruth Graham, Acupuncturist
MA, L.Ac
Ruth Graham established Ancient Art Health Center in historic downtown Littleton in 1998, specializing in acupuncture, allergy elimination, thyroid issues and pain control. She works with patients ranging from infants to seniors.
Graham began her professional life as a speech/language pathologist, but when she and her son’s allergies worsened and western medicine could not address them, she looked elsewhere for relief. Her life having been so positively impacted by holistic medicine, she returned to school to pursue a graduate degree in Chinese Medicine. She graduated with a diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998, adding that to her Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma Christian University and a Masters Degree from the University of Denver.
As a single parent of three children, Graham sought a place to establish her practice, finding downtown Littleton, she knew she was home. Moving her family from Denver, she bought a home in Littleton and found a spot to hang her shingle on Main Street. She involved herself with the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants Association and she was quickly elected president, which thrived under her leadership. In years 2004 and 2005 she was named Littleton’s Citizen of the Year.
Graham has a high value of understanding her patients perspectives and provides a wide variety of alternative options to issues that western medicine can not address. After becoming an acupuncturist, she heard a mom from her son’s soccer team discussing an alternative treatment for allergies, NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique). Within a month Graham was in California studying with Dr. Nambudripad, the founder of NAET. This specialized treatment addressed her allergies and brought relief that no other treatment had. She also extensively studied under Richard Tan, utilizing his Balance Method acupuncture strategies. Graham continues to explore different treatment modalities, needling techniques, nutritional and herbal protocols incorporating them into her practice.
Fun loving Graham says that the tongue and cheek part of her resume includes driving a Western Welcome Week float, serving as a parade judge, coordinating and participating in a human Parthenon the year the Olympic touch came through downtown Littleton, wearing lederhosen on a float and the world’s largest Snap & Pop drop.
During her son’s tenure she was the volunteer Heritage High School Lacrosse team acupuncturist, while serving on the Lacrosse parent board. She was one of the founders of the Original Historic Shopping Districts in the Denver Metro Area, uniting historic shopping districts in the area and planning events to promote them. Graham has been active in preserving historic buildings in the city and was the first owner of a historic building to create a major remodel and addition,(letting the Littleton Preservation Board practice on her). Graham has served on the board of the Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum and currently sits on the board of the Littleton Business Chamber. Her roots and affections for Littleton run deep!
When Ruth is not in the office, you can find her spending time with her adult children and her too-quickly growing grandchildren, on her standup paddleboard, biking, hiking, reading, painting and playing her piano, while crossing travel destinations off her bucket list.
